Proof Gold 50p – Piglet
Description This proof gold 50p, dated 2020, is part of the Royal Mint’s Winnie the Pooh and Friends Collection. The storybooks of Winnie the Pooh and his friends were first introduced to the world in 1926. This series celebrates the delightful characters of this family favourite. This coin features a reverse design of Pooh’s Little Friend, Piglet, a character who tries so hard to be brave even though he is scared of most things. Piglet is depicted in one of E.H. Shepard’s original illustrations, holding onto a large dandelion within the Hundred Acre Wood. A buzzing bee flies onto the coin, this is a detail that brings together each coin in this series. The obverse of the coin features Jody Clark’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This proof Piglet 50p gold coin comes in a plastic capsule, along with original Royal Mint boxes, certificate of authenticity and informative booklet.
