Proof Gold 50p – Girlguiding
Description This proof gold 50p, dated 2010, celebrates 100 years of Girlguiding in the UK. In 1909, the true originators of the Guides, turned up to the first Scout rally, demanding that there was something similar offered for girls. A year later, the Girl Guides Association was formed and led by Agnes Baden-Powell. The Guides helped provide girls a solid grounding in key areas of life from social skills to physical fitness. The association continues to evolve with the times and ensures that they stay relevant to each new generation. The reverse of the coin features six logos surrounding the central Girlguiding logo, each logo represents each stage of the organisation. This symbolises the journey each Girl Guide undertakes. The obverse of the coin features Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This proof coin comes in a plastic capsule, along with original Royal Mint boxes and combined certificate of authenticity and informative booklet. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free and VAT free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
