Description This proof gold 50p, dated 2020, celebrates British Diversity. For over 1,100 years, Britain’s story has been told through coins struck by The Royal Mint. This coin celebrates all the people who have made Britain what it is today, the reverse design emphasises this with the words ‘DIVERSITY BUILT BRITAIN’. The interconnected triangles in the background, represent a formed network, to mark the importance of each line and bringing the whole composition together. The obverse of the coin features Jody Clark’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Rishi Sunak, who was Master of the Mint at the time, said “For generations, ethic minority groups have fought and died for this country we have built together; taught our children, nursed the sick, cared for elderly; and through their enterprising spirit have started some of our most exciting and dynamic businesses, creating jobs and driving growth”. The British Diversity 50p comes in a plastic capsule, along with original Royal Mint boxes, certificate of authenticity and informative booklet.
