Description This proof gold 50p, dated 1992-1993, marks 25 years since the UK’s entrance into the European Economic Community. The coin features Mary Milner Dickens design, a table top viewed from above, around the table are twelve chairs. On top of the table are also 12 stars, which represents the twelve members of the EU, these stars are linked with lines to represent the links of commerce and trade. They are placed in the geographic positions of the capital cities. In honour of the presidency, the chair at the head of the table is marked ‘UK’. The obverse features Raphael Maklouf’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The proof 50p gold coin, comes in a plastic capsule, along with original Royal Mint box and certificate of authenticity. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free and VAT free.
