Description This proof gold £5, dated 2002, is a special commemorative crown, in celebration of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was committed to serving the British people and the commonwealth. Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in 1952 and reigned for 70 years, making her the longest-reigning monarch. The Queen has aged gradually on her coins, there have been four definitive coinage portraits since Mary Gillick’s first portrait. The obverse of the coin incorporates the 1953 coronation crown and 1977 silver Jubilee, which both feature Her Late Majesty on horseback. The reverse of the coin features a mature portrait of the Queen. The coin comes in a plastic capsule, with a combined certificate of authenticity and informative booklet and Royal Mint box and outer sleeve.
