Proof Gold 50p – Kew Gardens
Description This Proof 50p gold coin, dated 2009, marks the 250th Anniversary of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. Princess Augusta devoted a few acres of her gardens at Kew to a ‘Physic Garden’ where unusual and rare plants were studied, which then became a world leader in plant science. The reverse of the coin features Kew’s famous Chinese Pagoda and the obverse of the coin features Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin comes in a plastic capsule, with original Royal Mint boxes and certificate of authenticity. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free and VAT free.
