Description This proof £5 gold coin, dated 2022, honours a life of dedicated service by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She had a long list of varied patronages, having grown up in a family dedicated to service, she started as a child. A centuries-old tradition is the Royal Maundy Service, whereby nominated individuals receive rarely seen Maundy money for contributions to their community and local church. This inspired the design for the coin by Patrick James Lynch, alongside her symbolic signature. A representation of service, from the Queen to her people.
