Description This Proof £5 Gold Coin, dated 2022, honours the life and legacy of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This was the first £5 to feature the first portrait of His Majesty The King, Charles III, by Martin Jennings. Her Majesty was committed to serving the British people and the commonwealth and was the longest-reigning monarch. Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in 1952 and reigned for 70 years. On 8th September of 2022, she sadly passed away at Balmoral Castle. The reverse of this coin features a young portrait of Her Majesty, mirrored by a portrait of her in later years, a representation of the breadth of her reign. The design was created by John Bergdhal in collaboration with the Royal Mint. The £5 coin comes in a plastic capsule with the official Royal Mint boxes, informative booklet and certificate of authenticity. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax. All of our proof gold coins and sets are verified for authenticity by our experienced team. Any coins that fall short of our quality standards are not re-sold.
