Proof Gold £5 – 60th Anniversary of The Queen’s Coronation
Description This proof £5 gold coin, dated 2013, marks the 60th Anniversary of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation. On Tuesday 2nd June 1953 her coronation took place in Westminster Abbey with over 7000 guests. Millions of people around the world tuned in to the ancient ceremony, as it was the first Coronation to be televised. Three crowns were worn, George IV State Diadem for the procession to Westminster Abbey. St Edward’s Crown, but this was too heavy so was only rested for her crowning. Finally The Queen wore the Imperial State Crown when greeting the crowds that gathered at Buckingham Palace. The reverse of the coin features the Imperial State Crown with the inscription ‘TO REIGN AND SERVE’ ‘A VOW MADE GOOD’. The obverse of the coin features Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This coin comes in a plastic capsule with original Royal Mint boxes and certificate of aunthencity. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free.
