One Ounce Silver Rectangle Coin
Description This one ounce silver coin, dated 2015, was manufactured by the Sunshine Minting. Inc on behalf of the Cook Islands. This coin has a unique rectangle shape, rather than the usual circle shape. They have a face value of 1 Dollar (CID/Cook Island Dollars). The reverse of the coin features a ship, HMS Bounty, which was a British merchant ship that was purchased in 1787 by the Royal Navy for a botanical mission to acquire breadfruit plans and transport them to the British West Indies. In 1789, there was a mutiny, known as the Mutiny on the Bounty, and the mutineers later burned the ship whilst it was moored at Pitcairn Island. The reverse also features a small portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. These rectangle coins are in a vacuum sealed packet, along with a certificate of authenticity.
