Description This coin, dated 2025, is the second release in the Royal Mint’s ‘St George and the Dragon Coin Collection’ which focuses on the legend of St George and the Dragon. The legend of Saint George and the Dragon has become an important chapter in the folklore and traditions of many countries, that tells of Saint George’s victory over a dragon. Saint George is the patron saint of England and it is believed that the bravery and heroism displayed in the story, became popular with English kings who wanted to be viewed in the same way. The reverse of the coin features a confrontation between knight and beast, originally created for George V’s Silver Jubilee in 1935, but the design was never approved for use on coins. The obverse of the coin features the portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. These coins are preowned. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free and VAT free.
