The history surrounding her is obscure, but she was said to be highly respected for her loyalty, courage and independence. The design for the one ounce gold Maid Marian sees her with a bow amid Sherwood Forest, with the obverse displaying Queen Elizabeth II. These are 24ct and contain one troy ounce of gold.
