Description One Ounce Gold Kangaroo coins, are also known as Nugget and have been produced by the Australian Perth Mint since 1986. Unlike most bullion coins, the one ounce gold Kangaroo coin changes its design annually. During the timeframe of 1986-1988 the coin features the traditional nugget and there were various designs of the nugget. From 1989 onwards the coin has featured different species of Kangaroo, a hugely recognisable emblem of Australia, with Queen Elizabeth II on the reverse of the coin. These coins are minted in 24ct and have a face value of 100 Australian Dollars.
