One Ounce Gold Bond of the 1960s
Description James Bond is a timeless character and we celebrate Six Decades of James Bond with The Royal Mint’s new bullion coin series dedicated to 007. The first coin in the series is dated 2024 and celebrates the Bond films of the 1960s. The reverse of the coin features the iconic flying ‘Little Nellie’ as seen in *You Only Live Twice.* Little Nellie is a highly customised, armed autogyro that Bond uses to find and fight SPECTRE helicopters. It was designed by Ken Wallis, a decorated World War II pilot and engineering expert, who also served as the double for Sean Connery while flying it. Making it a unique blend of reality and fiction. The 007 logo is displayed as it first appeared in the 1960s. The background features a gun barrel border that memorably appears at the beginning of every 007 film. The obverse of the coin features the portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. These coins have a limited mintage of 5000. These coins are preowned. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free and VAT free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
