Mexican 5 Peso
Description Mexican 5 Peso coins (Cinco Pesos) were issued between 1905 and 19545, most of these coins show the year 1955 as re-strikes. These coins were also made in other denominations such as 2.5, 10, 20 and 50 Peso. Mexican 5 Peso coins are a symbol of Mexican independence from Spain. The coin reads the inscription ‘ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS’, alongside the famous Mexican coat of arms, with an eagle holding a serpent in its beak while perched atop a cactus. The reverse of the coin features the left facing portrait of Don Miguel Hidalgo, a leader for the movement for Mexico’s independence and a legendary figure in Mexican history. The reverse also has the face value of the coin, CINCO PESOS and the issuing year. These coins are preowned, please contact us to find out what years we have available.
