Mexican 2 Peso
Description Mexican 2 Peso coins (Dos Pesos) were made between 1919-1920 and 1944-1948. There was a large volume of 1945 restrikes and the coin ceased minting in 2009. Mexican 2 Peso coins are a symbol of Mexican independence from Spain. The coin reads the inscription ‘ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS’, alongside the famous Mexican coat of arms, with an eagle holding a serpent in its beak while perched atop a cactus. The reverse of the coin features the date and below shows the value of ‘DOS PESOS’ in a garland wreath. Due to their low weight, they were often used in jewellery. These coins are preowned, please contact us to find out what dates we have available. All of our gold coins are verified for authenticity by our experienced team.
