Description Italian 20 Lire Gold coins are also known as Marenghi or Marengo gold coin. The Italian 20 Lire coins were issued from 1861-1927. There are three versions of the coin, which depicts three Italian Kings, the first was King Vitorio Emanuele II from 1861-1878, King Umberto I 1878-1990 and Vitorio Emanuele III 1900-1946. The coin features the Italian crest on the reverse and the monarch on the obverse. The crest is the House of Savoy’s coat of arms, they were the ruling Royal family at the time the coins were minted, they were one of the oldest royal families in the world. The coin also features ‘L20’ which is the face value, 20 Lire. All of our gold coins are verified for authenticity by our experienced team.
