India Mint Mark Sovereign 2019
Description Historically the Royal Mint used other mints such as Ottawa, Perth and Melbourne Mints to produce gold sovereigns. MMTC-PAMP India is the world’s most modern precious metals manufacturing and refining facility. The joint venture between MMTC Ltd and PAMP Switzerland are the only Indian precious metals refinery accredited by the LBMA for both gold and silver. In 2013 they began to produce sovereigns at the Delhi Mint, with production overseen by the Royal Mint. All sovereigns struck in India have the ‘I’ mintmark and have been produced with original dies and tools used by the Royal Mint. The coin features Benedetto Pistrucci’s design of St George slaying the dragon with the obverse featuring Jody Clark’s fifth portrait of Elizabeth II. This coin comes in an original Royal Mint certicard, along with a certificate of authenticity and outer gift box. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
