Hungarian 100 Korona
Description Hungarian 100 Korona 1908 are re-strikes of the 1915 minting, made by the Austrian Mint, to honour Hungary. The obverse of the coin features the Hungarian Emperor and Austria King from 1848-1916, Franz Joseph I, the coin is to commemorate him. The design of the Hungarian 100 Korona is unique to the Hungarian coinage and all engravings are Hungarian rather than Austrian. The reverse of the coin displays the Hungarian coat of arms, a crowned shield with angels on either side, along with the denomination of 100 Korona. Hungary spent much time in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, after WW1 the empire was split into individual nations. Korona coins were first minted in 1892 by the Austrian Mint, when reformed currency was introduced, the first of which were the 10 and 20 korona coins. These coins are preowned.
