Description Half Ounce Gold Krugerrand was first produced in 1980 by the South African Chamber of Mines. Over many decades this gold coin has become one of the most popular bullion coins chosen by investors. After its original production and subsequent success, the Krugerrand galvanised many other gold mints to produce a bullion coin of equal standing. The half ounce gold Krugerrand is minted in 22 carat and they are preowned coins. It contains half a troy ounce of pure gold, although its gross weight is more.
