Description The Elizabeth II Sovereign 2022 had a change of design to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. 70 years on from her accession to the throne in 1952, the Royal Mint have issued a Royal Coat of Arms design instead of the classic St. George and Dragon design which features on the majority of sovereigns. Previous “limited edition” designs of the classic Sovereign are always popular and the Elizabeth II Sovereign 2022 was the last sovereign she will feature on. These coins are minted in 22ct gold and have been so since the original “modern” design was issued in 1817. These coins are preowned. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
