Description This Proof gold Sovereign, dated 2019, was produced by the Royal Mint and features the most recent portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark. This is the fifth separate depiction of Her Majesty the Queen and the reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci’s design of St. George and the Dragon. The proof version of the coin has a mintage of 9,500. Elizabeth II Proof Sovereign 2019 coins are minted in 22ct gold and have been so since the original “modern” design of the sovereign was issued in 1817.
