Proof Gold Sovereign 2015 – Fifth Portrait
Description This Proof gold Sovereign, dated 2015, features the fifth portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by artist Jody Clark. Since the introduction of the first modern sovereign in 1817, the reverse of the coin still features the iconic design of St George and Dragon. This coin is one of two designs for 2015, the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley was released earlier in the year. This was the first time this had happened for over 100 years. Although Elizabeth II hadn’t aged much, Jody Clark had to try to make some clear distinctions, the main difference being the Royal Diamond Diadem, this was worn on her coronation. This coin comes in a plastic capsule, with original Royal Mint boxes and certificate of authenticity. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
