Proof Gold Sovereign – Memorial 2022
Description Elizabeth II Proof Memorial Sovereign 2022 has been released as a special edition proof coin to commemorate the celebrated reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It features the newly issued portrait of His Majesty the King Charles III and is the first official gold coin to feature the new monarch’s effigy alongside its bullion counterpart. The reverse of the memorial sovereign displays a new highly detailed coat of arms. Elizabeth II Proof Memorial Sovereign 2022 comes in a plastic capsule with original Royal Mint box and outer packaging as well as an informative booklet. All official Royal Mint Sovereigns are minted in 22ct gold and have been so since the original “modern” design was issued in 1817. The coins weigh 7.98g, of which 7.32g is gold and they have a diameter of 22.05mm. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
