Description Elizabeth II Half Sovereign 2006 were produced by the Royal Mint, this coin features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. This is the fourth separate depiction of Her Majesty the Queen and the reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci’s design of St. George and the Dragon. Elizabeth II Half Sovereign 2006 coins are minted in 22ct gold and have been so since the original “modern” design was issued in 1817. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free.
