Elizabeth II Half Sovereign 2000
Description Elizabeth II Half Sovereign 2000 coins were produced by the Royal Mint, the first bullion sovereign in 18 years. This was the first sovereign to feature the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, the fourth separate depiction of Her Majesty the Queen. The reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci’s design of St. George and the Dragon. Elizabeth II Half Sovereign 2000 coins are minted in 22ct gold and have been so since the original “modern” design was issued in 1817. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
