Charles III Gold Double Sovereign 2026
Description This Charles III Gold Double Sovereign is dated 2026. In 1817 as part of a reform of coinage, the modern sovereign was introduced, with Benedetto Pistrucci’s classic portrayal of St. George slaying the dragon. This coin features the portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. The 2026 coin has made a return to it’s traditional ‘yellow gold’ finish by including a greater amount of silver, which gives it the lighter colour. Its new design also includes a latent security feature on the obverse of the coin, similar to what is used in the Royal Mint’s Britannia series. The Double Sovereign 2026 is sealed in original Royal Mint blister packaging. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and VAT free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
