Brilliant Uncirculated Gold £5 – 2002
Description This Brilliant Uncirculated Gold £5, also known as the Quintuple Sovereign, is dated 2002. Brilliant Uncirculated or ‘BU’ coin is one that has never been in circulation. This features a shield design to mark the special celebration of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. This was only the second time that the design was not the iconic St. George and Dragon. The reverse of the coin features Timothy Noad’s crowned shield of the Royal Arms enclosed within a wreath of laurel. The obverse of the coin features Ian Rank Broadley’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, her fourth definitive portrait. The 2002 £5 coin comes in a plastic capsule along with an original Royal Mint box and certificate of authenticity. Only 1,500 of these coins were struck. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
