Austria 25 Schilling
Description The Austrian 25 schilling coin was released in 1926, not long after the re-formation of Austria as an independent state following the end of the First World War. The schilling replaced the Austro-Hungarian Corona. The Austrian First Republic moved away from the pre-war coinage (Ducats/Coronas/Florins) and issued the 25 and 100 schilling coins which remained in place until the Second World War. The 25 Schilling featured two different designs during it’s mintage. The original 25 schilling coin features the famous Austrian Eagle coat of arms holding the hammer and sickle and is more regularly seen than the second version released in 1935 featuring the double-headed Eagle. The figure of St. Leopold features on the second design. Please contact us to find out what years and design we have available. These coins are preowned.
