Argentina 5 Peso
Description Argentina 5 Peso gold coins were minted from 1881 to 1896. Argentina is the second largest country in South America and this coin is a reminder of early American coinage. Argentina 5 Peso coins have similarities in size and weight to the British sovereign and the design of the coin symbolises the importance of freedom and unity. The obverse features a portrait of Liberty and the surround reads “LIBERTAD 5 PESOS UN ARGENTINO 9D FINO”. The reverse of the coin displays the Argentinian national coat of arms, with two hands joining together in the middle of the wreath. REPUBLICA ARGENTINA is displayed along with the year of issue. These coins remain legal tender in the Republic of Argentina. These coins are preowned, please contact us to find out what years we have available.
