75th Birthday of King Charles III Sovereign – Struck on 14 November 2023
Description This BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) gold sovereign, dated 2023, celebrates the 75th Birthday of His Majesty King Charles III. This special sovereign was struck on 14 November 2023, the day he was born and christened. He is the eldest son of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. When he was nine, he was titled The Prince of Wales and waited more than 70 years to accede the throne. The obverse of the coin features a left facing portrait of Charles. In 1817 as part of a reform of coinage, the modern sovereign was introduced, with Benedetto Pistrucci’s classic portrayal of St. George slaying the dragon. The initials ‘BP’ can be found on the base under the hoof of the horse. The reverse of the birthday sovereign features the iconic image of St George and the Dragon and the coin has a matte finish. This coin comes in a plastic capsule along with original Royal Mint presentation box and outer sleeve and certificate of authenticity. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free.
