65th Anniversary of the Coronation Sovereign – Struck on 2 June 2018
Description This gold sovereign, marks the 65th Anniversary of the Coronation of Her Majesty The Queen and was struck on 2 June 2018. Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in 1952 and was crowned on 2 June 1953, bringing the world together in celebration. Huge crowds lined the streets of London to watch the procession of coaches escorting the royals and the Queen to Westminster Abbey. Millions of people around the world tuned in to the ancient ceremony, as it was the first Coronation to be televised. Her Majesty was committed to serving the British people and the commonwealth and was the longest-reigning monarch. The reverse of the coin features the iconic St George and Dragon design, but features a crown privy mark that includes the number 65. The obverse of the coin features Jody Clark’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It comes with original Royal Mint box, outer packaging and certificate of authenticity. This coin is struck in Brilliant Uncirculated finish and only 650 sovereigns were struck to celebrate the occasion. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free.
