Proof Gold Three Coin Sovereign Set 2009
Description 2009 Proof Three Coin Sovereign Set consists of a Double Sovereign (£2), full sovereign and a half sovereign. Sovereigns were first struck in 1489 and is one of Britain’s most famous coins. The 2009 design features Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic St George and Dragon and the obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The double sovereign (£2) and full sovereign bears Pistrucci’s initials, whereas the half sovereign differs and does not have any initials at all. Each coin comes in a plastic capsule, along with original Royal Mint boxes and certificate of aunthencity. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
