This Pre-Owned 2009 Robert Burns £2 Proof Gold Coin was issued to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns. The coin features a simple design with the inscription taken from Burns' most famous work, Auld Lang Syne; 'We'll take a cup o' kindness yet for auld lang syne'. The obverse side of the coin bears Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The edge of the coin is inscribed with the words 'SHOULD AULD ACQUAINTANCE BE FORGOT'. The inner part of the coin is 22ct yellow gold, the outer part of the coin is 22ct red gold. - Weighs 15.97g and is struck in 916.7 (22ct) gold. - Manufactured by The Royal Mint. - Struck to a proof finish. - VAT free and Capital Gains Tax exempt. - Diameter: 28.40mm. - Supplied in a capsule and is boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
