This Pre-Owned UK 1993 £5 Proof Silver Coin was struck to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation. The obverse of the coin features Queen Elizabeth II uncrowned, as she appeared on her first coins in a portrait by Mary Gilick. The Queen is encircled by mounted trumpeters, who are separated by swords and scepters of the Royal Regalia. The reverse of the coin depicts St Edward's crown surrounded by forty trumpets, recalling the fanfare that welcomed the Queen as she entered Westminster Abbey on Coronation Day. - Weighs 28.28g and struck in 925.0 sterling silver. - Manufactured by The Royal Mint. - Struck to a proof finish. - VAT free and CGT exempt. - Diameter: 38.61mm. - Supplied in original presentation box with certificate of authenticity. **Other Information** Queen Elizabeth II's coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey took place on the 2nd June 1953. The service was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury and was televised nationwide so that millions saw and heard the young Queen Elizabeth take the coronation Oath binding her to the service of the people of Britain and the Commonwealth.
