Saint George And The Dragon Silver Boxes
Collectors set of sterling silver boxes from The Royal Mint featuring three numismatic designs inspired by the legend of Saint George. Crafted by renowned silversmith Christopher Lawrence, these pill boxes have lids featuring the work of William Wyon, Benedetto Pistrucci and Percy Metcalfe. While Pistrucci's Saint George is instantly recognisable from its perennial use on gold Sovereigns, and Metcalfe's 'Rocking Horse' design will be familiar to collectors from the 1935 Crown, Wyon's St George was only used on Victorian medals but remains a worthy addition. - The three boxes are of different heights and together offer more than twenty ounces of silver - Each is hallmarked to the bottom by the London Assay Office with The Royal Mint's own mark, and Christopher Lawrence's 'CNL' mark and date lettered 2001 System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
