This is the work of young artist Dan Thorne, who shows Briannia in half-length, dressed in classical garb and a helmet, holding her trident and a shield decorated with a roaring lion. It's an attractive and popular design, paired on these coins with Jody Clark's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, used on Britannias for the final time.
