2021 Great Engravers Gothic Crown Portrait One Kilogram Silver Proof Coin
Presented in an impressive kilogram of fine silver, the Gothic Portrait is the latest entry in The Royal Mint’s Great Engravers series. The work of renown nineteenth century engraver William Wyon, the Gothic Crown featured two miniature masterpieces, released separately as part of this groundbreaking collection. Following on from the Quartered Arms reverse, the set is completed with a unique medieval-revival style effigy of Queen Victoria. Victoria’s great-great granddaughter, Elizabeth II, appears to the obverse in a very different but no less beloved portrait by another Royal Mint engraver, Jody Clark. This 1 kg edition is offered in 1,010 grams of 999 fine silver. It has a face value of £500 and comes from a limited edition presentation of 125.
