2020 Queen's Beasts White Lion Of Mortimer Two Ounce Silver Bullion Coin NGC Graded MS 69 First Releases
Silver bullion 2oz White Lion of Mortimer coin graded MS 69 by NGC. This was the eighth bullion release in the ten part series, not including the completer coin that capped off the blockbuster Queen’s Beasts series. Based on a menagerie of heraldic statues that guarded the Westminster Abbey for Elizabeth II’s coronation, this Royal Mint collection, been in 2016, celebrates the Queen’s royal and noble lineage. The White Lion is a heraldic beast associated with the family of Anne de Mortimer, through whom Henry VII, the first Tudor king, claimed royal descent. Her white lion is seen in profile on this coin, one paw resting on the shield which shows a white rose, encircled by a golden sun: a symbol linked to the House of York. Unlike the Lion of England, this Queen's Beast is uncrowned. This design, shown on this bullion coin with a chainmail backdrop, is the work of Jody Clark who is also the artist behind the portrait of Her Majesty the Queen shown on the obverse of this coin. From an unlimited mintage, this Five Pound pieceis composed of 62.42 grams of 999.9 fine silver. It has a diameter of 38.61 millimetres, similar to the 1oz edition but boasting a double thickness which lends a satisfying weight. This example has been graded MS 69 by the Numismatic Guaranty Company and given the additional First Releases designation, as indicated by the label. You’ll receive your White Lion of Mortimer bullion coin in its NGC holder. Please note that the image displayed on this page is a stock photo. You will receive a coin of the same grade though not necessarily the item pictured. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
