Five-ounce silver proof 2013 Britannia from The Royal Mint. This premium collectors' coin is one of the first to be struck in 999 silver rather than 958 silver and is the first £10 Britannia issued by the UK's national mint. This collector's coin features a one-year-only reverse, designed by portrait sculptor Robert Hunt, which depicts Britannia seated in classical attire, her trident in hand, and an owl perched on her knee. The owl is a symbol of wisdom, associated with the Greek goddess Athena. Weighing in at 156.30 grams, this large silver coin is one of a limited edition of just 1,150. It's a popular design with Britannia enthusiasts and a key addition to any serious collection of proof Britannias.
