Add a sought-after quarter-ounce release to your Queen's Beasts collection with this 2019 Yale of Beaufort 1/4oz gold proof coin. The yale is a mythical beast with swivelling horns, tusks, and a spotted body, adopted into English heraldry by the Beaufort family, an influential Lancastrian line. Jody Clark's reverse shows the yale, supporting a shield emblazoned with the Beaufort portcullis, a symbol later embraced by the Tudor dynasty. Issued as the sixth coin in The Royal Mint's landmark Queen's Beasts series, this £25 coin is struck in 7.80 grams of 999.9 fine gold to proof standard, achieved with repeated strikes of hand-finished dies. Just 1,000 of these coins were authorised worldwide, making it one of the scarcer releases in the series. Each of these pre-owned gold coins is presented in its official Royal Mint case with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
