Add a bold piece of heraldry to your collection with the 2018 Black Bull of Clarence 1/4oz gold proof coin, the fourth release in The Royal Mint's Queen's Beasts series. The black bull was a powerful symbol of the House of York, borne by the last Yorkist kings, Edward IV and Richard III, to emphasise their descent from Lionel of Antwerp, 1st Duke of Clarence. Jody Clark's detailed reverse shows the bull rampant beside a shield decorated with the Royal Arms as used by Edward IV, Richard III, and later the Tudor monarchs. Struck in 7.80 grams of 999.9 fine gold to the Mint's flawless proof standard, this £25 quarter-ounce coin was issued in 2018 with a worldwide mintage capped at just 1,500 coins. Each pre-owned example is presented in its official Royal Mint case with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
