The silver proof 1oz Completer coin is the last release in The Royal Mint's incredibly popular Queen's Beasts coin series, and features all ten heraldic animals which were seen guarding Westminster Abbey at the Queen's coronation in 1953. A total of 7,260 coins were authorised by the Mint in this presentation. The series began in 2016, with this last edition being issued in 2021. The Royal Mint engraver, Jody Clark was tasked with designing all the coins in the Queen's Beasts collection and he brings the series to an end with this magnificent reverse design. He arranged the 10 mythical creatures around the border of the cupronickel coin's reverse side, and placed the official effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in the centre. The lettering reads: 'THE QUEEN'S BEASTS 2021' and it circles the Queen's head. Clark also designed the obverse, which shows the full image of the Queen. It's the fifth portrait of Her Majesty used on British coinage. What's most noticeable about this crown coin is the fact that the monarch's official effigy is used on both sides, which is a rare observation on Royal Mint coins. It's issued in the original presentation box from The Royal Mint, and the specifications are a weight of 31.21 grams of 999 fine silver, It measures 38.61 millimetres in diameter and is struck up to six times using hand-polished dies to give a stunning proof finish.
