Allied Leaders two-ounce gold proof Waterloo Medal coin: the latest release in The Royal Mint's Great Engravers collection. This eagerly anticipated coin is the first of a two-part issue and features the obverse of Benedetto Pistrucci's monumental medal, regarded by some as the most beautiful ever designed in England. This 24-carat gold 2024 coin features a complicated allegorical design centred on the four allied leaders who joined forces to defeat Napoleon Bonaparte at the 1815 Battle of Waterloo: George, Prince Regent, later King George IV, Emperor Francis I of Austria, Tsar Alexander I of Russia and King Frederick William III of Prussia. The other side of the famous commemorative medal is due to be struck on a 2025-dated coin. This official Royal Mint coin is from a limited edition of just 195 and is offered in its original packaging with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
