Graded PF 70 Ultra Cameo with an NGC First Releases label this coin features the remarkable portrait from 1847 Gothic Crown, remastered in 2oz of 24 carat gold for The Royal Mint’s Great Engravers series. The work of renown nineteenth century engraver William Wyon, the Gothic Crown featured two miniature masterpieces, released separately as part of this groundbreaking collection. Following on from the Quartered Arms reverse, the set is completed with a unique medieval-revival style effigy of Queen Victoria. Victoria’s great-great granddaughter, Elizabeth II, appears to the obverse in a very different but no less beloved portrait by another Royal Mint engraver, Jody Clark. This 2 oz edition is offered in 62.42 grams of 999.9 fine gold. It has a face value of £200 and comes from a limited edition presentation of just 350 pieces. This piece is struck to a proof finish with specially prepared dies. You’ll receive this two ounce coin in its Numismatic Guaranty Company holder.
