Two ounce gold proof plain edge Royal Mint Gothic Portrait coin graded PF 70 Ultra Cameo by NGC. This remarkable piece is a jewel from The Royal Mint's sought-after Great Engravers range which is inspired by historic masterpieces of coinage design. This addition to the series is a recreation of the Gothic Crown, created by then Chief Engraver to the Mint, William Wyon in collaboration with William Dyce. The second of a two-part release, this coin features Wyon's extraordinary gothic revival portrait of Queen Victoria, dressed in elaborate robes and surrounded by a blackletter legend. A few thousand of the original Victorian coin were struck but this modern tribute is even scarcer: one of just 125 pieces. It's struck in 62.42 grams of 99.99% gold with a proof finish and measures 40.00 millimetres from plain edge to plain edge. The plain edge detail distinguishes this coin from the more common milled edge edition and recreates an important variation known on the famous 1847 coin. This example has been graded a pristine PF 70 Ultra Cameo and boasts a First Releases label. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
