2018 Lunar Year Of The Dog Tenth Ounce Gold Brilliant Uncirculated Coin
Celebrate the Year of the Dog with this 2018 BU gold 1/10 ounce coin from the Royal Mint. Struck in 0.9999 fine gold (24 carat) and housed in a collectable coin sleeve, this edition is the fifth release in the Mint's Shēngxiào series, which depicts the animals in the 12-year Chinese Zodiac. Although this is the fifth coin in the Shengxiao collection, the dog is actually the 11th animal in the zodiac. Those born in the Year of the Dog are said to be observant and loyal, characteristics which are often seen in man's best friend. For this Royal Mint lunar coin, British-Chinese artist Wuon-Gean Ho has designed a sprinting dog on the reverse. The breed, according to the Mint, is a terrier, and one can see the Chinese character '狗' to the right of the animal. The official UK coin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the face value of Ten Pounds can be seen on the obverse, which was designed by Jody Clark. These tenth ounce UK coins are unique to the Year of the Dog collection in that they're the only gold coin struck to a brilliant uncirculated finish. During production, they're stuck twice to give a finer finish, which is superior to bullion coins. Specifications are a total weight of 3.13 grams and a diameter of 16.50 millimetres. Just 1,008 of these gold Lunar coins were authorised in this limited edition presentation, with only 910 coins ever being minted. Issued in the original Royal Mint presentation box, with free UK delivery. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
