Bullion 2011 Half Sovereign in the original card sleeve. The Royal Mint authorised 50,000 Half Sovereigns to be minted in 2011. These British coins are struck in 3.99 grams of 22-carat gold for collectors and investors. Gold Half Sovereigns have a long history, dating back to the early 19th century when the first of these coins were issued. The reverse design on this 2011 coin is just as old and features an image of Saint George slaying a winged dragon, created in 1817 by Italian artist Benedetto Pistrucci. This is paired with a more modern obverse design by Ian Rank-Broadley, showing a diadem-wearing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This pre-owned 2011 Half Sovereign comes in the original card presentation box from The Royal Mint, with the coin neatly encapsulated to protect its uncirculated finish.
