1987 Britannia One Ounce Gold Proof Coin
The 1987 one ounce gold proof Britannia holds a special place in British numismatic history as the first year of The Royal Mint's premier Britannia series. This landmark release introduced collectors to Philip Nathan's iconic 'standing Britannia' reverse, one of the most celebrated modern British coin designs. A total of 2,486 examples were struck in this individually boxed presentation, making it this proof edition significantly scarcer than the bullion issue for this year. Each of these coins contains one troy ounce of 22-carat gold and shows Britannia with trident, shield and olive branch. The obverse features Raphael Maklouf's third coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, used on UK coinage from 1985 to 1997. Supplied in its original Royal Mint case with numbered certificate of authenticity. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
