2021 three-coin premium Britannia gold proof set from The Royal Mint, issued in the original presentation box with certificate. The Britannia is the modern troy ounce precious metal coin issued by the UK's Royal Mint and is available in both a bullion finish for investors and a proof finish for coin collectors. First making an appearance in 1987, proof Britannias initially showed Philip Nathan's 'standing Britannia' design but since 2013 they have featured a unique reverse design every year, although a few years before that had one-off engravings. For the first time in 2021, an exclusive portrait and premium portrait proof coin were released by the Mint, giving collectors an opportunity of two 2021 Britannia coins to possess. These premium 2021 editions show PJ Lynch's stunning depiction of the helmeted Britannia on the coins' reverses (tails side), petting the lion with her right hand and propping up her trident and Union Jack shield with her left. On the obverses (heads side), the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is visible, which was designed by the noted Royal Mint artist Jody Clark. This pre-owned set contains a Half Ounce 2021 Britannia, a Quarter Ounce 2021 Britannia and a Tenth Ounce 2021 Britannia, giving a total gold weight of 0.85 troy ounces. All three coins are struck in 999.9 fine gold and finished to The Royal Mint's proof standard.
